Almaty's air gateway: domestic flights use Terminal T1 and international flights T2. Check your flight's terminal before setting off.

Terminals and the start of your journey

Airport code ALA connects Almaty with destinations across Kazakhstan and abroad. The new T2 opened in June 2024 for international flights, while T1 handles domestic services. When meeting someone, agree on the terminal and exit rather than simply saying 'the airport'.

Plan the trip from O2 around your flight and luggage. A taxi takes roughly 30–50 minutes, with more time needed in heavy traffic. Public transport needs a larger buffer: check the route, transfers and stop for your terminal on the day. The map link points to the airport; select the final terminal using your ticket.

How to get there

Take a taxi from Hostel O2 to the terminal shown on your ticket. For public transport, open live directions; allow roughly 90–120 minutes including waiting and walking.

Visiting tips

Travel time excludes check-in and security. Check the airport flight board and your airline's required arrival time.

Save your flight number, terminal and Hostel O2 address: 273/5 Tole bi Street, for use after landing.

Book a taxi through an app or official desk and confirm the fare and pickup point before travelling.
